Afraid to Fall Asleep

I'm afraid to fall asleep at night-
And though you think you know
That my fear is born of dreamings, dark
I say "it isn't so."

You see, I'm in a dream right now
Whose warmth I can't forsake,
And every time I fall asleep
I fear I might awake.
