Late Night Assessment

Silent footsteps in a sea of noise
A night sky full of stars, an astronomers toys;

I won't be controlled or bent to anyones will

I'm my own person and I no longer will sit on the window sill;

Air so still you could hear a pin fall
Air so cold you can see your breath crawl;

Barefoot and shirtless, the sand and air feels just fine

Being overwhelmed and pushed, I ran so my life wouldn't be a straight line;

Full moon in a halo, lighting up the night
Comets shooting by on their midnight flight;

Looking out to sea, the waters calm and dead
Suddenly a school of dolphins, by a female they're led;

Stuck in limbo, between a child and  manhood

In so many years I'll return, claiming "on this beach I stood";

It all seems so perfect and a bit surreal
Wish it was in a globe all it would need is a seal;

I never claimed to be perfect, nor would I ever try

I'm impulsive, complicated and free, that's how I get by;

Like a postcard, without the hustle and strife
Tomorrow back to the world and the busy city life;
