Characters in Chris and Nigel

Some people have asked for pictures of Chris, Nigel and Carol. I started to look out for some, once. But I found that pictures are better left in the imagination. All of the "good guys" are the most beautiful, adorable, sexy, attractive people you could ever wish to see. They are perfect. Your best fantasy, your own ideal boyfriend or girlfriend isn't as exotic as these people, as desirable, as strong and as vulnerable.

So I didn't continue to look for pictures.

I can see them, all three of them. They are real. I know what each of them looks like. I've met them and talked to them. Except, of course, that they really only exist in my mind. I hope you can see them, too. I've carved them from alabaster, then tanned them carefully. They are drawn from life. In a different life I've met each of them, yet each is the best parts of a pair of people apiece. And none of the real life models acts in this way. Well, unless, of course, you know different!

Christopher Jenkins

14 years old, Blond haired, blue eyed, A popular boy. Talented at schoolwork, Chris is at or near the top of the class in all subjects except geography. Well adjusted. Straightforward in his outlook. Chris has never realised that he is well liked at school, mainly because he is easy going and relaxed with everyone.

Nigel Cropper

14 years old with the most beautiful blue eyes About a month younger than Chris. Sportsman. Silver blond hair. Athletic. Slim build, designed for stamina instead of power. Popular at school because of his sporting prowess. Not hugely academic, Nigel is in the bottom half of any set that he is in at school.

Caroline Anderson

Also 14, with long blond hair, slim, very pretty, she's about five months younger than Chris. Chris's long term girlfriend. Excellent at schoolwork. In love with Chris.

Claire and James Cropper

Nigel's parents. Mid forties, Claire's about five years younger than James. Caring. They wish they'd had a brother or a sister for Nigel. The type of parents you wish you'd had. You may have had them, even if you never knew.

Jean and Peter Jenkins

Chris's parents. Older than the Croppers. Jean is about the same age as James Cropper. Peter is four years older than Jean. More old fashioned as parents, probably because of their age. Money is tight in the Jenkins household.

John Simpson

Nigel's best friend. Nigel always hangs around with John. They haven't ever had any secrets from each other. Very alike in many ways. John is a sportsman, maybe better than Nigel. John's younger brother is Mike.

Andy Giles

A couple of years younger than John, Mike Simpson's best friend. Twelve years old or thereabouts.
