promises

I could promise you the stars of happiness
Or a bottle of water from the sea of love
I should vow my eternal love to you
I should vow to protect yourself from pain

I am not strong nor am I weak
I am only myself, no more and no less
If I made those promises and couldn’t hold them
Would you still love me?

What if those stars were comets of sorrow?
If the water was poisoned?
What if I broke my oath?
Or that I am the one that hurt you?

Would you still love me?
Despite those empty words
I WILL promise you one thing though
An oath of loving you as much as I can

No more... no less...
